I recently returned home from Iowa about two days ago.. Not sure when I will be heading out for work again. It looks like June might be a busy month, but we have been told May, April, March etc etc would have been busy months too.. The windtower projects keep getting postponed due to all sorts of issues relating to the current economic situation.. Hundreds of towers were suppose to go into production long before the first bailout was set into motion. Now people are still waiting for stimulus money to pay for projects that were supposedly in motion a year ago... at least that is what I am understanding. to be completely honest I am not sure what to understand. who to believe. what to do, think, feel.. blah..
Obama was recently visiting Trinity windtower production plant in Newton, Iowa. It was the same plant that we were picking up the base section from to drop off at a lay down yard. (stimulus money at work!!! bring towers to a yard and then move them again.... perhaps to another yard until we find the right home for them!) The plant was going nuts with preparing the place for the President. they had people painting, cleaning and sprucing up the place to look good on camera. Employees were told what to wear, what to ask and how to respond.. People who didn't fit the image of a plant worker or were just not visually good for the cameras were told to take the day off.. I fully understand how image is very important with politics, business etc etc, but It still saddens me to how much effort is put into fitting an image! its no wonder why certain stereotypes exist.. all the effort to making sure a truck driver looks the part of a truck driver.. obviously We really don't want the country to be confused to who is the trucker and who is the President on TV..... What the heck should a welder, trucker, forklift operator etc etc really look like??? what would be wrong if we had someone who didn't looks like a typical trucker represent truckers on TV?? I only use truckers as my main example because I am always around them and know a few who def would not fall into most peoples idea of what a trucker should be...
This proves that one should rarely believe what they see on TV..
on a lighter note I began a new drawing last night. Its an image of my one niece walking through a field of flowers.. still developing the background... mainly doing it to help empower her. She needs to know that she is a work of art.
